First Communion is usually celebrated during Sunday mass in the Spring of 2^nd grade year, as a group. This group includes the parish school students and religious education students in the ANCHOR program. The steps for any child receiving First Communion at Ascension are as follows:

~For children seeking to receive First Eucharist that are not enrolled in the parish school or ANCHOR program, parent(s) should contact Vicky Chism at the parish office for details and arrangements at 451-3860, EXT. 12 or e-mail at: vchism@ascension-parish.com

~Proof of baptism is required for those we do not have sacramental records.

~For all others, the beginning of the sacramental process for First Communion begins in January with an information meeting for parents, where details and dates will be given out.

~There is usually a “Retreat/Workshop” day in March and First Communion practice the week prior to the reception of the sacrament. The celebration of the sacrament is in April.
